Decision Maker Complaint Process

I'd like to know how to complain about a Decision Maker please.

She harassed my boyfriend while he was at work. She tricked him in to getting me to phone her (by not telling him who she actually was). When he phoned her back later she lied to him, telling him that she wasn't the deicision maker. She also told him she isn't answerable to anyone, which I find very hard to believe. She's spoke to me, knowing that I was alone at home, that she'd just woken me up. She attacked me aggressively, not actually asking questions, but making accusations, then hung up on me when I started sobbing. I had a massive panic attack, so my boyfriend then had to come home from work - and I had a migraine for two days afterwards (not to mention a mid cycle bleed that still hasn't stopped).

This is harassment. She actually told me that she hadn't looked at the evidence. She threatened to have Carer's Allowance revoked (my only income). 24 hours later I received her decision to decline my DLA application; with her name and signature on it.

Help?

Hello Nim, I am sorry you have had such a bad experience!

This FAQ tells you how to go about complaining to DWP

Complaining to the DWP

Some people in this situation would also complain to their MP

Contacting your MP

This would be a separate issue to appealing against the decision, you have one month from the date on the letter in which to do this. Please come back to this topic/thread and tell us if you wish to appeal and we will point you in the direction of the appropriate resources (you will find this easily in future if you bookmark it, or make it a favourite on your web-browser, now).

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Thank you for your advice. I've downloaded the Complaining to the DWP faq to look at when I'm up to doing so. I've contacted my MP in the past about problems with the DWP / Atos; her stance is that all she can do is hand the problem back to them. I've also been advised to request copies of the recordings from the phone-call before making a complaint.
