Hello all. I sent off a claim for PIP mid August, and was just wondering how long it would be before I receive some correspondence from the powers that be. I'm not expecting it anytime soon. Does anyone have any knowledge on the whole process? Thank you in advance

I'm afraid that the process is taking a very long time. In fact, I think we have had only one member who has gone through the process and heard a decision, other people have been waiting for months and have still had no contact :(

Hi, I read somewhere on the tinternet today about someone receiving a decision and it had taken 14 weeks, not sure if they had a face to face assessment though.

Hi. I just had the ATOS medical assessment. What is the expected waiting time for a decision?

At the moment it can be anywhere from a couple of weeks to as much as six months, it will depend on whether your assessor was classed as fully qualified or whether their reports are subject to audit, all you can do is chase ATOS on a regular basis to see if your report has been passed to the DWP.

Thanks for your reply. Going by how slow it has been so far, I'm guessing I'm in for the maximum wait! I will certainly chase them up, maybe every couple of weeks
