Hello Gordon,
BF just wants to get it over and done with on 18th so won't be asking to record now. I want to know whether they will ask my name as I will be going in to the assessment with him. I'm not keen on giving my name to them as I claim ESA. Please advise.
Also if they ask him to take off his shoes we won't have the long handled shoehorn with us as the assessment is at a centre and not a home visit. Should we take it with us?
Thanks.

I would expect you to have to identify yourself, if nothing else they should keep a record of everybody entering the assessment centre.

I would not expect them to ask him to remove his shoes. but it would seem sensible to take the show horn just in case.

Thanks Gordon,
I'm just getting a bit paranoid with all the stress and don't want my name linked with his. Think I'm being over cautious. Will try to take shoehorn although it's quite long won't fit into my bag.
Is it alright for me to take notes in the assessment? things like what they asked him and what he said etc. I've read so much stuff about how people say the assessors lied about what they said or can do.
It's making me feel ill.

You have a legal right to take notes during the assessment, we have heard a couple times of claimants being told that they can't but this is incorrect.

Hello,
Please could you tell me whether the PIP assessment is the one where they ask why you haven't killed yourself if you suffer from mental health problems? How would someone answer that question particularly if they frequently feel suicidal? Any advice would be welcome.

Also when and where from do you request a copy of the assessors report to see if they are telling the truth ( Capita in my area)

Also how do you go about requesting a mandatory reconsideration and how long do you have to do so should it be needed.
Thanks ( assessment is on Tuesday next week)

PIP does not consider issues of risk, so this is a question that might be asked for ESA. If asked then then all I can suggest is that the person answers honestly.

You can request a copy of the report a couple of days after the assessment by contacting the DWP office dealing with the claim.

We can deal with an MR when and if it is needed.
