I think they still do lobotomies, but I doubt they can force it on you. My mate says that a psychiatrist does not have the authority (unless specifically trained) to section you. That has to be done by one of the other mental health workers - an AMP (whatever that is). He said it's highly unlikely that you would be sectioned unless it was for self-neglect. With all the cut-backs it is unlikely, as they will be short of beds. He sounds like he is on a power trip. In any case there is no treatment for OCD. Do let me know how your research goes. Hi, i am really concerned about the future, because regarding ESA I would not be able to go to a Job Centre for interviews. partly due to my OCD and contamination. You said you were like me regarding not being able to attend a Citizens Advice Bureau office. Do you mind me asking if you have the same problem with a job centre and if so, have they allowed telephone interviews?

I am not in the work group for ESA thank goodness. Yes, I have a problem going most places. There is no way I could work - I don't even have a social life to speak of.

Are you in the work group then? I so hope not with OCD. If you cannot get to interviews then you are defo not capable of work.

Hi, I am yet to find out which group I will be in, I have not had the 'medical' yet - I am praying they will do a paper based medical assessment. I have no social life any more, though I still talk to a couple of friends on the phone. OCD is a prison, and so unfair when committed no crime!

I got the ESA on papers alone, so good luck with that.

Yes I agree, it is like a life sentence. You would get less for murder. I rarely meet friends, but like you have phone friendships.
