I did this on the PW1 trying to get permission in advance as MrsHurtyBack suggested, but was told by decision maker that they can't make a decision in advance.

Then I remembered the date on PW1 form is for 'when have you or will you be starting'.. so why can't they can me a decision in advance. :( I'm autisitic so like things in black and white.. :( I arranged to speak to another decision maker who gave me verbal assurances what I had described I wanted to do (work on computer at home).. so long as under £120 and 16 hrs p/w, that I should just start and then do another PW1.

Is this all about right?

But today a random ESA payment seems more than coincidental and I'm worried they've done something mental

The critical thing is that you stay within the hours and money, so if they are happy for you to go ahead then complete a new PW1 when you start the work.
