There is an alternate strategy for the Going Out activity at the bottom of page 55 of the guide that might be worth your looking at.

Hi Gordon

I have informed the DWP I am making a MR by phone and letter,

I am going in hospital on the 4th of December for an operation, can you advise me what is the maximum time I can take to send in my letter stating why i want my case reviewing and any extra medical advice ?

Thanks

Did you tell them that you would be providing additional evidence and testimony?

If you did then they should give 28 days to do so, however this includes postage and getting to the right person, so I would not leave it more than 21 days.

If you didn't then you need to contact them again or your risk them doing the MR without the additional information.

Hi Gordon

I told them I was getting more evidence yes, She logged it all on her computer, She said they would give me some leeway because I am going in hospital, I have read somewhere you can take quite a few months if you are in hospital or something like that,
I take it that's not true .

Thanks

MRs usually take 5-8 weeks to complete from when they have received all of the information

Your being in hospital is not going to make any difference to the timescales.
