The dreaded brown envelope arrived yesterday. Awarded standard rate personal care and standard rate getting around. On the one hand it's a good result, but on the other it's not as i will now lose my Motability car. There are some anomalies from the F2F, that I could challenge, as i recorded the event, so I have the answers my wife and i gave. I got 0 points for planning a journey, am thinking of challenging that because too many assumptions have been made about my general abilities, plus with the recent decision to accept the ruling about mental health issues for this sector, i am now able to include a lot more detail in support of that question. Some would say just accept it as it is, but I feel that my claim has not been correctly dealt with. One other point, the letter took 7 days to arrive from the date of notification so I have lost i week's preparation time for my notification of MR! the cards are stacked against us!

If you are considering challenging the points for the Going Out activity then make sure that you fully understand the criteria for this activity, based on what I see in the forum from members, most do not understand what they need to show.

I have been reading the notification letter again and am now going through the recording of the assessment. I think there are anomalies, but am not sure whether they would/could constitute grounds for an appeal. I'm caught between two stools! I have been advised by a welfare worker that the original decision is pretty safe - i.e. they cannot go back on the point scores for the descriptors as laid out in the letter. I don't know if that is strictly true, so I am getting rather stressed trying to decide whether to take the risk and push for a MR, or just accept things as they are and move on. It will mean I have to find transport and finance all the costs involved. stress from a different direction this time!

AN MR re-makes the original Decision, it may be that your current award is secure because you have shown categorically that you meet the criteria, but if this is not the case then it is possible for you to lose points and even an award if you request an MR.

I repeat my original comment to make sure that you understand the criteria for the Going Out activity, based on what I see in the forum, most people do not and either do not meet the criteria when they think that they do, or do not properly explain how they meet that criteria in their claim form or at the assessment.

Re recieving standard rate for going out and loosing your mot ability car.
Surely with cognitive function being impaired and tje "brain fog" with tje condition you should get enhanced due to not being able to plan a journey alone?
For example if you need to use a satnav and are unable to follow directions?
