Thank you Gordon, my friend is coming round tomorrow to help with the MR and ask for a copy of the assessors report, which presumably contains nothing but a description of my house front, so I guess I’ll get the ball rolling on a new claim too. I didn’t realise I could do both. I hate this stuff even when it all goes smoothly!

It's not always advisable to do both but in this case it does not matter.

They have refused my MR and refused to send me a copy of the write up stating I did not cooperate which the latest case manager would only say it looks like a write up from a phone call and was very detailed and that’s what the decisions were made on. There is no assessors report since they didn’t do an assessment. I suspect they’ve already changed the write up to include some extra info which will be more my word against theirs.

So would a subject acces request get me a copy of this assessors description of my house?

The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

Yes you can try a SAR, send it to Capita rather than the DWP but don't be surprised if it does not exist, also, i previous cases, the assessor does appear to have attended at the house but they only stayed a few minutes before driving off again without getting out of their car.
