I have been trying to put together an MR letter together. How long do you need to stop in-between walking for it class as distance. I.e I stopped twice while walking then had to get balance again to walk while holding hubbies arm and using Fischer stick. 60yards 2 stops but we worked out 50yards so didn't walk over 20. Looking into reliably as in pain any ideas how I should word it.

I'm afraid there is no defined time but it must be a stop and not a pause for the distance to be considered limited you also have the possibility if the stop is prolonged to argue that you cannot walk the distance in a reasonable time period as the stop would be taken as part of the time it takes to complete the distance.

The time for a stop will also, to some extent, be seen as a factor of the distance walked, so a one minute stop in a 20m walk will be seen as more significant then a one minute stop in a 200m walk.

So a one minute stop in a 50m walk is more likely to be seen as a pause whereas a five minute stop is more likely to be seen as being unable to continue.

So if I walked approx 2 mins and stopped for 3mins...........walked for 2 mins stopped for 3......
walked for 2 than reached assessment centre and rested half hour as I made sure we were early.
Husband then helped me stand up and supported me with Fischer stick to assessment room, which she said was 15m in 15secounds. I should be so lucky. Would it count as one distance of 50/60 yards ? Or 3 lots just under 20 ? Not sure how to approach it or just say I don't feel that I reliably completed the fast in a timely manner in pain through out and definalty would be unable to repeat.

From your previous posts your walking speed seems to be more of an issue than the distance you can walk.

All you can do is make your arguments, it doesn't matter what I think it is the Decision Maker you need to convince.

Went to CAB today but they don't seem very sure about reliably on mobility said that's more for DLA. Thinks I would have more chance on planing a journey or should say not planing a journey. Really grown me as I have been looking up reliably, not feeling to good now so confused and still waiting on doctors letter. Any advise would be most welcome.
