Twinkle toes, So lovely to hear from someone in N I in same position, Could I ask you when you had your F2F? I’m confused as I have read on here of people requesting their assessment & that gave them a guideline to what the final decision would be,

Hello Poppy
Face to face assessment was on the 26th February 2018. The assessors report was received by the DWP on the 7th March 2018. I phoned the dwp and requested a copy of the assessors report and was refused as they said it was not their policy to issue a copy of the assessors report until the decision maker in the dwp had made their decision.
Yes, having the assessors report before you receive your decision letter, does give you some indication to what the final decision would be. (in scotland/england the dwp have no problem issusing the assessors report a few days after they have received it, and I know of one person who received it 3 days after requesting it. It is printed from dwp computer system) But here in NI seems to have different rules - although there is law to say they cant issue assessors report until a decision has been made. No matter what you say to them - they just say that is their policy!
Gordon, kindly replied to your message stating that requesing a SAR would not be any quicker than waiting for a decision. When you submit a Subject Access Request from the dwp they have 40 days in which to send you this. As you can see if I had applied on the 8th March (posting letter 1st class signed for) to the dwp requesting copy of assessors report through SAR, I should have received copy of the assessors report by the 17 April, which is the 40 days. Today is the 12th April and I am unlikely to receive a decision by the 17 April, but had I applied under SAR I would have had the assessors report at least! As the 40 days are up then!
From one of Gordons other posts I have read he believes that the decision maker usually goes with what the assessors report states. From past experience this is generally the case. So, yes having the assessors report would give you a guide as to what the final decision may be. Rarely does the decision maker vary much from the assesors report.
Sorry, for rambling on a bit, but I hope you understand where I am coming from. I don't know whether or not you want to go down the road of requesting the assessors report through SAR or to wait patiently for the decision letter?

Kind regards

Hello Twinkletoes; Thank you for your info. Like yourself I don’t want to rock the boat requesting assessors report if it’s not their policy here. If you would be good enough to let me know when you finally get your results & I will use that as a guideline as to when to expect it. I wish you luck with your outcome. Horrible this waiting

Twinkletoes, Just to let you know & anyone else in N Ireland that I had my F2F on 10th April, text on 19th April to say they had recieved my assessment & I should hear from them within 4 weeks. If this does happen at least it’s not as long as what some people have had to wait. Fingers crossed

Hello Poppy, Lovely to hear from you. The text that you have received is a standard text sent to everyone and indicates 4 weeks. It is just a guideline. They sent the same text to me on the 7th March 2018 and I have just recceived pip decision letter yesterday. So that's almost 7 weeks. I do hope you get your decision sooner, as this waiting is very stressful.
Good luck!
