The GP, at least, would have received a request for a GP Factual Report, there is a section on this in the PIP Claim guide.

Is this normal as the rheumatologist secretary said they had only had a few of these forms and its impossible to fill it all in as he treats me for rheumatology and can only say that osteoarthritis is an ongoing condition which has functional effects and can impair mobility and e can say what joints are affected. he cannot say if I can cook a meal or go on a journey and every day is different. Seeing my GP this afternoon.... very worrying or normal?

If they are willing and this may be the critical issue, then they should be able to say much more than that. I agree that they may not be able to make a specific statement about your ability to prepare and cook a meal but they should be able to comment on where you have restriction, the level of pain you are in and whether you would have problems with, as an example; gripping objects, these are all things that would be relevant to the activity and of course others.

Get them to think about the functional tasks for each PIP activity, again as an example; your range of movement in your arms being restricted would be relevant to washing and getting dressed.

My GP is going to let me okay the form before it gets sent back. Which is good...as they said I have a right to see it. My rheumo is a busy man and very matter of fact.....so not sure if he will be specific ..he will say pain and stiffness are natural for osteoarthritis and I also have scoliosis and but he will be very objective and not say much as its variable and progressive. It will take weeks for the GP!!!
