N.B. Face-to-face assessments for PIP have been suspended from March 2020 for a period of at least 3 months, as result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Instead your assessment will be carried out on the papers or over the phone. On July 6th 2020 the DWP announced that there will continue to be no face-to-face assessments.

It’s impossible to say.  There is certainly no evidence that there will be automatic exemption from face-to-face medicals based on what award of DLA you receive.

But the DWP have said that “people with the most severe health conditions or disabilities, or those who are terminally ill” are unlikely to have to attend a face-to-face medical assessment.  Much may depend on what medical evidence you are able to get from your specialist or GP and include with your claim.
