Can you tell other claimants anything about travel and facilities for this PIP face-to-face assessment centre? Please post in the comments section below if you can.

Things like:

  • Distance to nearest bus stop or rail station.
  • Nearest parking, any disabled parking.
  • Distance to walk if you’re dropped as close to the door as possible.
  • Wheelchair access.
  • Toilets, including disabled toilets.
  • Ground floor or first floor.
  • Lift available.
  • Anything else you think might be helpful.

Please don’t comment on the staff though – we won’t be able to publish your comments if you do.

There is no drop off point next to the building as the staff park their cars next to the ramp. There is a ramp and Physio First have a web site if you want to look online at the layout before you go. ( Good idea). The car park opposite fills up quickly from nearest the road to rear. So it is a fair walk from the rear of the car park. to the building. There is no crossing for the busy road, so if you are not fast or have mobility or awareness of surroundings issues, best take someone to get you across.
The rooms are on ground floor, I did not see a sign for the toilets and you will have to ask.. It is not walkable from the train stop, taxi needed or bus, and some of the bus stops again are a good walk away, so check where your bus stop is online if possible, and if you can manage it. Good luck!
When I went there was a sign up inside telling claimants to sit in the yellow seats, they are hard upright chairs.. I presume the sofas are for the private physio clients. only. !!!)
You have to buzz and wait for someone to get in the building. If you are coming by car, the motorway traffic is very bad so give plenty of time to get there.
