Can you tell other claimants anything about travel and facilities for this PIP face-to-face assessment centre? Please post in the comments section below if you can.

Things like:

  • Distance to nearest bus stop or rail station.
  • Nearest parking, any disabled parking.
  • Distance to walk if you’re dropped as close to the door as possible.
  • Wheelchair access.
  • Toilets, including disabled toilets.
  • Ground floor or first floor.
  • Lift available.
  • Anything else you think might be helpful.

Please don’t comment on the staff though – we won’t be able to publish your comments if you do.

There is a ramp to the door but the buzzer is high and the door is very stiff and heavy so wheelchair users and people who use crutches or are not very strong would need to have someone with them to get in.
It is a few feet along a corridor, maybe 2 metres or less, then a small waiting area. The office I went into was no more than 4-5 metres from my seat. The office was quite small. Somehow I was "observed walking 15 metres in 10 seconds". which is ludicrous because there is not a 15 metre length to walk in there, so take note of the distance. Disabled spaces right at the door, not sure about the car parks.

I would have said a reasonable 5 minute (5/600 yards?) slow walk from the nearest car parks which are IKEA and SKYDOME. Disabled pay in both but Skydome is reasonably priced for Coventry. Both are a flat walk to the office.

The nearest bus stop is outside Ikea, about 400 yards away. Again a flat walk. The train station is about 7/800 yards away across the ring road so you have a couple of steep slopes with the pedestrian underpass.

There is disabled parking outside for about three cars outside which was not mentioned in the info pack we got from DWP.

There is a ramp down to the door and as far as we know everything is on the ground floor.

There are disabled toilets in the main core of the building which are through two very heavy fire doors, my partner had to come back to get me to open them for her. She probably could have managed with a struggle but we were were not sure if this was part of the test and played it safe. We did not see any cameras but we did not want to be seen to be looking for them so we probably did not notice them.

Sherriffs Court is in two blocks with a narrow road between them and the PIP office is down that, not easy to see from the street.

Distance if dropped off is next to entrance .
There are a few steps to get up to the door.
It is as far as I know all on ground floor
