Registering
Before you can log in and subscribe you need to register with the site. All you need to provide is a name (it can be a nickname or a random set of numbers and letters, etc. see below), user name, password and email address. Your details are entirely confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside Benefits and Work for any reason whatsoever.

Please note: your name, username and password should each be between 6 and 16 characters long. Please use only letters and numbers - no spaces or other characters. They are all case sensitive.

Your Name is the public name that will be displayed if you post on the forums. It doesn't have to be your real name, it can be anything you want.

Your Username is the name you will use to log in with. This can be the same as your Name above if you wish.

If, when you register, you get a message saying 'Some required fields have not been completed' this may mean that :
you have missed a box or
your name, username or password are too short or
you have used an invalid character in your name, username or password, such as a dash or an underscore.

Logging in
To log in, click on the log in link at the top of the navigation bar on the left hand side of the page and a box should open with spaces for you to type in your user name and password. Alternatively, use the user name and password boxes at the bottom left of the page.

Remember your details are case sensitive.

Once you've typed in your details, click on the Login button. If your details are correct you will be logged in and you will see a User Menu on the left hand navigation bar.

If your details aren't correct a box will appear with the message:

'Incorrect username or password. Please try again.' Click on OK and then try logging in again.

If you continue to have problems, please This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and we'll help you sort it out..

New subscription linkSubscribing

If you are joining as a Professional you can also pay by invoice. However, we do not take payments over the telephone and we never get access to your bank details when you pay online - your payment is entirely secure.

We do not take automatic recurring payments. Five days before your subscription is due to run out you will receive an email to let you know and tell you how to resubscribe if you wish to. If you do nothing your subscription will lapse after 5 days.

To subscribe, Visit the subscription page after you have registered and logged in.  Alternatively, click on the New subscription link at any time when you are logged in.

Changing your log in details
You can change your name (the name that appears if you post in the forums), password and email address by logging in and the clicking on Your Details in the User Menu that appears on the left hand side of the page.

However, you can't change your user name yourself. If you want to change that you will need to email us , telling us your current user name and what you want to change it to. We will email you back to let you know what happens next.
