If the Tories get in power are these likely to be brought in.?Or is it a wild guess at what might happen ?
I am really concerned and getting anxious if some of the listed come in, especially axeing contribution-based ESA .So really there will or could be no benefit for the most vunerable people then ?? if you have money behind you .This is cruel as i have money behind me because i had compensation from having an accident while at work.I was medically retired due to the accident which left me with life time back injuries.
Please dont frighten people too much.I just hope theTories dont get in as they have ruined so many lives. Remember they dont live in this trapped life, they dont even live in the realworld.

Hi D,
It is not our intention to frighten people, it is to inform them of the potential cuts to Welfare that may be implemented by the Tories if they are returned to power.
Potential cuts to the benefits listed came to light as the result of DWP e-mails leaked to The BBC.
The Tories have stated categorically that they will make a further 12 Billion pounds worth of cuts to Welfare spending over the course of the next Parliament.
They refuse to clarify which benefits they will cut.
Yes, it is "scary", but we must make people aware of these potential cuts !

This news is not new, it has been reported in the press, on T.V./Radio, and widely across the net.
We can only hope that they do not get the chance to implement the potential cuts.
I will now lock this topic to stop it developing into a discussion.

Will just have to bite the bullet and live with it. Not alarmed at the moment as only thoughts on paper and not policy.
Hi om,
The problem is, an awful lot of claimants will not be able "to bite the bullet and live with it." as they may struggle to live on the other means tested income that precludes payment of IR ESA.
It also has potentially massive adverse implications on Brit Ex-Pats who now live abroad, as you cannot receive IR ESA whilst living abroad, (even if you could pass the IR ESA means test) and if they lose their entitlement to CB ESA they may also lose the right to healthcare in the country that they live in.
If they then tried to return "Home" they may have problems with the right to reside test.
These Brit Ex-Pats may well have worked for 30-40 years in the U.K before moving abroad.
As you rightly say, nothing is certain yet !
