ESA support group lowered to 30 metres? was created by Mags
Just noted on another forum some one has said the 50 metres were lowered to 30 metres on the 31/8/2015, for the support group, is that correct?
Rather worrying!

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Mags,
Thankfully, I think whoever said this has been misinformed!

Hi M,
Oh dear, this information is categorically wrong !!
After a quick perusal of other forums, I gather that the false information that you mentioned was in this : Yourable Thread where it looks like the poster who gave the incorrect information has now realised and made an edit to the thread.
To allay any worries caused by this error, the 30 metres referred to is not current, and is therefore incorrect.
There were no amendments to The ESA WRAG & SG Descriptors on 31/08/15 !!
The extract that they have posted is from the original : The 2008 SG (LCWRA) Schedule 3 Descriptors
These were amended in March 2011 to include use of "the imaginary manual wheelchair" just before the national IB, IS, SDA to ESA transfer process started, as seen here : The 2011 SG (LCWRA) Schedule 3 Descriptors
Then, on 28/01/13 there was another slight amendment to the wording of Activity 1, as seen here : The 2013 SG (LCWRA) Schedule 3 Descriptors
The 28/01/13 Descriptors above are still in use and current !!
Further, even though qualification for the SG is not points based as with The WRAG, some but not all of : The Functional WRAG (LCW)Schedule 2 Descriptors that score the highest points award, (Activity 1 being one of them ) also fulfils the corresponding : The Functional SG (LCWRA) Schedule 3 Descriptor
As you will see the distance is most definitely 50 metres or less and not 30 metres.
People who post on forums should be sure that what they are posting is accurate before doing so.
They should understand just how much anxiety and worry incorrect information such as this can cause to uninformed people who read it.
One of the the great positives with B&W is that you can always be sure that the information given by Mods will be correct !!
