New advice on cancelled assessments! was created by Gordon
To all members
We are now advising all members who have an assessment cancelled to write to the DWP with details of the cancellation.
A number of members have reported problems with subsequent appointments which suggest that the Assessment Providers, Capita in particular but ATOS and Maximus as well, are either unable to document the reason for a missed appointment or are recording the information incorrectly.
This has resulted in claimants being told that the have already had their one missed appointment and that they must attend the next one or have their file returned to the DWP, in at least one case this has happened and the member had to explain to the DWP what had happened.
The letter just needs to explain the details of the appointment and what happened on the day; you attended and they could not see you or you received notification in advance of the appointment that it was cancelled.
Letters should be sent to the DWP office dealing with your claim, we suggest marking them for the attention of the Decision Maker.

Replied by Fleur33 on topic New advice on cancelled assessments!
Hi Gordon,
I only received written confirmation this morning of my stepsons home medical assessment for this coming Monday. I then received a voicemail to call them! I was told Mondays assessment has been cancelled and they will notify of new date in a few weeks times, when they have availability!
I will now write to the DWP as you advised.
Many thanks
