Wrag group without a medical was created by bonzer
I received the brown letter yesterday and I was expecting a date to attend the atos medical.Instead it stated that I've been put into the wrag group.I can t find any similar subject on the matter in this forum so I am now really confuse now on why I haven t been examined and ultimately I've not been put into the support group. On one end I am relief of not going trough the horror story of Atos medical but on the other end I feel all my medical evidence have been ignored.Does anybody know why they dismiss my medical examination.I am know preparing my appeal and wondering where and how and which document to request to the DWP.Are EAS85 and ESA65 in this case been released without a medical and if so what is the best way to obtain them ,Recorded Letter to Glasgow or call to the local JCP.Any advice and clarification would be very much appreciated.

Hi B,

You are most definately not alone in being placed in WRAG without a medical, it does seem to be a trend of late.

See this long thread here. :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?func=vie...id=10&id=73148#73148

Also if you put WRAG into the search engine above the logout box, many threads will come up.

As you have not had a face to face, the medical report that you should request would be an ESA85A, however it may be prudent to also request any documentation that was used, or generated in your assessment.

A recorded delivery request for said documentation (keeping copy) would be the best course of action.

You should address this to the DM of the IB Re-assessment team, at the address at the top of your WRAG award letter.

You may wish to read the FAQ's thread from this link. :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?func=vie...id=10&id=70444#70444

You will see links to appealing, and our ESA guides within this thread.

If you then have any further general questions, please return to the forum.

bonzer

there are lots of threads on this subject on the forum.

it seems that a high percentage of people are now being placed straight into the wrag group without a medical. maybe because they are snowed under? we dont know.

you need a GL24 form to appeal with. i called & requested copy of ESA85a & ESA113 doctors report. ESA65 seems only to be filled out if a medical has been done & youve been found fit for work.

good luck

Although I cannot be certain, it may possibly be the case that IB claimants are being migrated to ESA into the WRAG without a medical, in the full knowledge that after one year they may not be eligible for ESA(IR), they will fall out of the benefits system and thus the number of ESA claimants will be surreptitiously reduced?
