Can i use old evidence was created by gazzmg
hello all

i have a letter dated 2011 from a psychiatrist and i dont have any upto date info regarding pip.
my cpn has left and i have lost my support from my cmht i think i am still under them but only see the psychiatrist every 6 months

I asked my new psychiatrist if i am entitled to pip and he said i have chronic schizophrenia and have no worries about the benefits i should be entitled to them

i am worried that people fall through the net and have worries of my own that i am entitled to it
even though my new psychiatrist said i should be fine

how long can you use old evidence

New evidence is always better than old, but many claimants have been disengaged by the NHS, for one reason or another and only have access to evidence from some years ago. They key thing is to try and show that your conditions have not improved since these reports/letters were produced, in part this will be down to the way that you complete the PIP claim form.

It is important to remember that PIP is awarded because the claimant has shown that they have care and/or mobility problems, not because they have a particular condition, have a look at our PIP Claim guide for more information.
