Thankyou,
As members of Work and benefits pay a subscription fee,for help and advice via literature on applications etc then my view is that perhaps a phone call by officials of Work and benefits to the DWP to put my leading questions to the latter might be appropriate. Work and Benefits could then Cascade and feedback ,via this forum the responses of the the DWP will hopefully make.
I am sure the several million claimants of indefinite DLA would be very grateful
Thankyou so much

Thankyou for your response.
Can I ask if you had turned 65 since April 2013?
If so this might indeed indicate that claimants in this age group are being "invited" to claim for PIP .
I do think you may well be right regarding those now under 65 in that the random selection infers that the DWP are fully aware of the sheer numbers of claimants of indefinite DLA and rather carry out the natural reasssement of all claimants in a progressive and methodical way they are just "Stabbing " at it if you will.
Kate Green MP a shadow health minister calculated that it would take over 40 years to process all 4.8 milion claimants from DLA to PIP!!!
Even with the DWP assertion that they will process 2000 claimants per day (which I do not believe is possible with all the peripheral checks, delays, paperwork etc ) it is in my view highly unlikely that all this will be done and dusted by 2018.
However I do think all indefinite DLA claimants will eventually have to apply for PIP.When this process is complate is anybody's guess
Thankyou for your contribution

John Raymond:

It does not appear - in my case at least, to be random. I missed the cut off in April 2013 as I was 64 and 11 months.

I have just received an 'invite' dated 3rd October to claim PIP, and I was awarded an 'indefinite' award in the 1990, and yes, I don't have any more medical evidence which is rather worrying when completing my application. I expect that anything that the DWP held is now destroyed.

I have multiple sclerosis, and apart from the MS nurse and continence team, I had the option of forgoing any further Neuro consultations as there is little they can do, hence I have no ongoing neur history, just advice from the MS nurse when times get worse. It's been several years since I last saw a Neurologist. There will be some snippets on my GP records but not sure of how much help they will be.

Thankyou for that contribution.
I think the more evidence we can get from those who have already been invited to apply for PIP in terms of their age or when they were awarded DLA initially ,the better placed DLA claimants might be regarding the likelyhood of them undergoing reasssement to PIP from DLA.In other words we might be able to establish any emerging patterns and then determine if the process is somewhat "Less random "than the random selection stated by the DWP .
Once again thank you and I very much hope that you are successful bin winning PIP
Best wishes

Hi just a quick one to add to the OP question relating to not having support from say (GP or Consultant) or any supporting info if this DLA was awarded in the 90's. Am i correct in believing that indefinate award claiments (as i am myself) are still only eligable if they still have the same difficulties? and if not would have had to update the DWP accordingly?
In which case would still be under a GP/Consultant etc fot ongoing treatment so should be able to get relevant updated supporting info to help their pip reassessment
