ESA Awarded at Tribunal Today was created by Debra51
I was awarded ESA based on the 15 points which I had argued for at my Tribunal today - I am so relieved and would like to thank this site and forum for your help.

I was awarded ESA from & including 5 May 2015, this was disallowed following my medical from 2 November 2015. I have been claiming JSA contributions based since then (as per advice obtained from your site). What happens now and what payment will I receive and from when - will they link it to the JSA payments I have been receiving? Many thanks for your assistance.

Hi Debra51

First of all, congratulations on being awarded ESA. Well done getting through the appeal ordeal!

Just to clarify for me, are you asking whether the backdated payment you are due will have the amount of JSA you have been awarded deducted from it?

Yes I am, thank you.

Also, my understanding is my contribution ESA is for 1 yr which means it will finish in May. My Tribunal suggests I am reassessed in 2 yrs time. If I apply for means tested ESA after May, will I have to start all over again with ATOL or equivalent assessment again?

No! The move to ESA(IR) requires a financial assessment but not one to look at whether you qualify. You'll be asked to complete an ESA3. There's a sample on the following link
