ESA Query

Hi

I have never claimed ESA before and just had a few questions, on my sicknote it said labyrinthitis as this is the condition that is causing me problems with mobility and so on most recently, however, I have numerous other issues, i.e, severe endo, anxiety, depression, back pain caused by lordosis, IBS, I put all this down on the ESA50 but do they take it all into account or just the condition on the sicknote, I am probably being paranoid....

I also wondered, as I am waiting on a couple of referrals and my GP is too busy to write letters etc, if in the meantime I should provide something from my mum who helps me out with regards to getting out and about, childcare when I am unwell and can't get to the school, or would they just dismiss this sort of thing, suspect I already know the answer though!!

As you've gone through the ESA application form, you've presumably answered all the questions and explained how your various illnesses stop you from being able to perform certain tasks, so I think that all of your illnesses will be taken into consideration.

If you've also included a list of your medications, then that will back up what you have said, and I assume you'll have made a note of the fact that you're awaiting referrals?

It would be a very good idea if your Mum could write down how she has to help you, and explain how your illness affects you, from her point of view. It might also be an idea if you include a diary of how your condition affects you from day to day (not a great long diary, just a few days' worth!!)

Other than that, I'm afraid you'll just have to wait and see what happens. Good luck with the application.
