PIP factual report from consultant was created by bennie
Hello

I have received letter to phone DWP by 9 Aug if I want to claim PIP (as DLA isending).

Anyone know

a. approx how long it takes for DWP to send form out after the phone call

b. How long you then have to fill the PIP form in?

Thanks

It normally takes 7-10 days to receive the form, if longer then contact the DWP.

You will have four weeks to complete and return the form although this period includes postage, if you need one then you can request an extension.

I will be phoning re DLA to PIP next week but downloaded the PIP 1 to look at the questions they will ask to prepare myself.

Am assuming they stick to a script of questions as per the PIP 1?

Just to clarify re this question on p18 on the PIP 1: 'About DLA (b) Is there any medical evidence from your DLA claim that you think might help us understand how your disability affects you?' do you think it is best just to say 'yes' if the condition is more or less the same and just send updated info with the main form when you get it?

Thanks in advance

Hi Bennie,

I have moved your query to your previous topic dealing with your PIP claim. Whilst we always prefer to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic, it is particularly difficult when a question from a different member is tagged onto someone else's topic - it can easily result in the wrong information being given/taken.

It is up to you to decide whether your last DLA claim will contain information that is stil relevant to your current condition.

However, no matter what you decide about using DLA records, you should still fill in the PIP2 form in detail and submit (copies of) all supporting evidence again. This is, in part, because we don't know what the assessor is actually going to look at, or even whether your records are complete.

If you have further questions about your PIP claim, at any stage, please reply to this message and we will do our best to help. You will find it easily in future if you bookmark/favourite it on your web browser now.

Very sorry was a bit confused re the topic business - was not wanting to start a brand new topic or query and I thought you had to add a query onto anything similar someone else was talking about. My mistake. So to be clear: I just add any further queries - about my PIP - anyway, onto this?

Thanks for your response to my original question, btw :-)

This forum works a bit differently from others. In other places you might get 'told off' for starting a new topic if there is already one about the subject of interest. However, we prefer you to do this so that we can keep all advice specific to the person concerned.

Yes, add all further PIP queries to this please :)
