This is just a time scale for you to read i thought it might help other people to understand the process I had the letter on the 20th july and phoned that day. I had to phone by 2nd August Forms arrived on the 8th of August sent them off on the 17th Aug with additional information On the 10 sept i had a letter saying that they had all the information and reports they needed to make a decision 28th Sept got the brown envelope success. So all in all it took 9 weeks with out a face to face. I hope this helps Mrs H .But i had known last week because they had written to my council to inform them that i had had an award and had to adjust my council tax I have noticed as well. that going from DLA to PIP i have lost a weeks money because of the change over and dates and my pay day has changed as well from a Tuesday to a Monday i will just have to except that .

You shouldn't lose any payments, but we have seen this happen in the past. You could phone DWP and ask why you have lost out - you might need a call back from a supervisor as the people who answer the phones have neither a great deal of knowledge, nor the authority to change anythjng!

Hi Denise,
Congratulations. I bet you're so relieved!
Recently, I ended up losing money due to both change of payment dates and because DWP should have backdated my increased award. I rang them, and was frankly more confused after I'd spoken to them! I ended up writing them a letter, explaining exactly what I meant, and last week a lady from PIP rang me to say it had been their error and she would arrange for payment ASAP, which I received just yesterday. It's worth chasing them up to get what you're entitled to.
Take care.
