DLA to PIP help was created by Tala30
Hi all

I'm a for my new member and currently waiting for my form to claim PIP, having been on DLA for just over 8yrs which was scheduled to end at the end of April this year.

I' am feeling totally stressed out , as i'm due to be called for my Operation for removal of small gall stones, at anytime from now over the next few weeks as approaching my 18/19 weeks waiting time.
Need to be stress free, as I also have other medical problems, and get stressed and anxious very easy.
And in a lot of pain & discomfort with Cervical Spondylosis, and damaged Facet Joints

Need help with this, any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I'm afraid I'm not sure what you are actually asking

Have you had the 'invitation' to claim PIP yet?

The PIP process is explained in our guide

Hi
thankyou for your reply back.

Yes I have just recently had my request for asking if I would like to apply for PIP as my current DLA claim of 8yeras is due to come to a end at the end of APRIL THIS YERA.

I have Cervical Spondylosis and wear and tear on my Facet joints in neck, which I also have discs that are narrowing down on me.
And have a partial elbow replacement in my left elbow , but I only have 60% straighteness, both problems caused me a lot of pain and discomfort.

As well as this problem I also have N.A.F.L.D liver disease, and I am currently waiting to go in hospital to have small gal stones removed.

Which when I saw the Consultant back in November was told it would be a 18/19 weeks waiting list, which is now fast approaching.

My doctors have also advised that i'm not too have any undue stress as I have long term history of anxiety and depression.

Once I receive my PIP2 Form to fill in and send back, which I will mention this on the form.

I'm worried about what happens if I get called for medical assessment if it clashes with my Operation date, and also need time to recover from Operation without due stress added on me

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Include the dates that you would be unavailable in your PIP2 (further information), I would also include a separate letter from yourself detailing the dates and send a copy of this to the DWP office that is dealing with your claim, the address will be on the letter accompanying the PIP2.
