Thank you. was created by leed46
Today I received a letter from the DWP informing me that further to my recent ESA50 questionnaire, I had been transferred from Incapacity Benefit to ESA. I am in the Support Group and the benefit is something called 'contribution-based'. Best of all, I didn't have to undergo an Atos medical ...although they did try to summon me to one before I had even sent off my completed ESA50!

On the one hand, it was a lot of work and worry to receive exactly the same money that I have always received ...all that effort just to stand still. But on the other hand, I can't imagine what would have happened to me if they had taken my money off me.

Just a little note to say Thank You for your guides, to the hard working Moderators and to the forum community for all their advise and continued support. I am in no doubt that success of my award is due to this informative and supportive website.

I shall now try to help my friends and neighbours with their ESA (and DLA) claims!

Thanks again everyone!

PS-
I understand that I can write to the DWP to get some sort of medical report from my file which might indicate when they will look at my case again?

Hi L46,

That is great news !!!! :)

Thanks for letting the forum know.

Thank you also for your comments regarding B&W.

You can request the ESA85A Medical Report, which should tell you how long your SG award should last before reassessment,(The Prognosis) and may give you some idea how and why you gained entry to The SG.

This can be done by ringing The Benefits Office on you SG award letter, but should be backed up with a written request.

You can make this written request formal by using a SAR, which can be dowloaded, filled in and printed off from this link :

www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/request-for-personal-information.rtf

From this page :

www.dwp.gov.uk/privacy-policy/data-protection/

Here is a list of potentially available : ESA Forms

ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

There may also be an : ESA72 Form , there will definately be an ESA85A and an LT54.

I hope the SG Award has a long prognosis, the longest possible is 3 years.
