Hi
Just thought id share y home visit assessment today, was booked for a two hour slot that they could arrive,
when they arrived they asked for id to prove who i was then reported that my main conditions were fybromyalgia, cfs hasimotos, and being tested for ms,they are all interlinking conditions causing main problems, she went through who looks after my conditions, and highlighted that the main issues she had identified were mobility issues, pain, fatigue etc over all assessment went on for one hour, she also preformed a test on my strength,in my hands and tested my memory by giving me 3 things to remember, sums, and spelling words backwards.has anyone else had this in assessment,if so what are they looking for,?
after the assessment she did say your condition will improve i replied that there is no cure but hopefully they are working on one.which did put doubts in my mind....
so now just got to wait for outcome,do you know how long it takes to hear back?

thankyou
michele

You are probably looking at about 4-6 weeks for a Decision.

Although assessments all follow the same script there is still some variation and even more so for a home assessment, which are purely down to the assessor, rather than one that is done at an ATOS Healthcare Centre, which are controlled by a computer programme. The memory. etc. tests are related to mental health, at best they are rather crude indicators of problems.

You should not assume that the assessor has any clinical experience of your conditions, the vast majority are generalists at best, we have heard of assessors telling claimants with MS and similar conditions that they will het better, so I would not read too much into the comments.

The most positive thing to take away from the day is that it is over.

Best of luck

Gordon

I had an atos? visit today the girl no more than 25 asked for no proof of my id and offered none of hers.i have fibromyalgia cfs/ cirrhosis of the liver enlarged spleen ect pain all over you know the story i am sure/
Encephalopathy also diabetic type 2 /arthritis in foot ect hard to walk at all/gout the first question she asked? who walks the dog, so thats the level on intelect.asking same question several ways stupid memory game and she left without referring to any of the questions about specialist reports that she kept hedging off and decides to up sticks and go.so i anticipate a long battle ahead to get my allowances back.but i will not give up they can play games as they will as for worry, DONT PLEASE live your live in spite of the people that i place below contempt for the best part. keep going and be strong they do not own our minds.
