Tricky questions at face to face PIP assessments?

Is it possible to log a list of trick questions recently used by assessors like CAPITA at these assessments? No doubt they monitor these sites and adjust questions, but good for a while?

I was totally flummoxed a few weeks back by a random question about Satnav, and why, since I admitted my husband had Satnav in his car, I could not just use this to plan unfamiliar journeys.

I tried to explain that I now never went anywhere without him, that I would never now attempt to plan any trip and that I hated the gadget to the extent that I insisted it was muted during any car journey. (I'm ASD and the dreadful voice commands are additional stress).

A heads up would have helped and I hope a list could help others?

My PIP was for mental health and trigeminal neuralgia. A lot of the questions I expected weren't asked, such as remembering 3 items or spelling a word back words.

Some strange or tricky ones I remember.
Do you cook? I explain no and why not. He asks "but what's your signature dish?"

Which one of your medications could you absolutely not do without?
I didn't understand this as all of them are necessary but I felt compelled to pick one.
Watch out for them being chatty. Mine asked a lot about TV and radio then told me his favourite show and tried to discuss my opinion on it, perhaps to test me on communicating with people.
How far away is your local shop?
2 mins walk
Asked again a few mins later, so is your local shop ten mins or so away?

After the assessment I went to the loo and he collared my friend in the corridor and chatted about me so make sure they know to watch out for that.
Oh and the same man who came out to talk on his mobile phone whilst I had a cig in the car park before my appointment, did the same again afterwards until we got in the taxi.

I was asked if I had any pets. When I said yes, I was told that I must have to walk that dog! To which I replied that sometimes I could go to isolated places to walk her, ie where I was not likely to bump into humans. Or on most days of the week I threw a ball for her in the garden.

I was also asked if I had a car. It was suggested that if I had a car then I was driving heavily medicated and should have my licence revoked. It was also suggested that if I had a car I could therefore plan a journey to an unfamiliar place without difficulties.

I explained that I did not drive until after my medication wore off, that was approximately late morning or early afternoon, I also explained that having a car did not automatically mean that an unfamiliar place became a familiar place just because I felt marginally safer in the confines of my own vehicle, because that vehicle, being old and not well maintained due to lack of finances, could easily break down, and leave me stranded and very anxious and worried in an unfamiliar place!!!

My home visit included:

Having pens dropped on floor as she was rummaging in her bag and asking me to get those for her as she carried on pretending to rummage - my sister/carer rushed and got them with a sweet smile before I could even get my grabber lol

I was asked a lot about my pets - 1 cat and 1 dog - despite her wanting to rush to the next question I made her wait and explained that dog is hubbys and he walks it, feeds it, poop pick ups etc.. and all I do is get cuddles and company. I also explained that my cat does its business outside so no litter tray, has a perm open catflap and is fed on the utility side where I can lean on it to feed him

I also noticed during the medical bit where she handed me cards to read from that she stopped and held them out just a little away from me to try and make me reach for them - I just said I can't reach can you pass them to me please

She also was very chatty coming out with how lovely the weather was and had I been anywhere nice recently and did we have any summer holiday booked up etc.. I sussed what she was trying to do and stayed nice and chatty in reply but firm on my answers that I do not go anywhere unless by car and last holiday was disabled friendly and just 1 hour drive away
