Hi
Any advice much appreciated. Had to sell house due to husband forced early medical retirement. He is now my full time carer. We are relocating to another area to be near immediate family. I am in the contribution based support group indefinitely. What iare the rules please? We are in temp accommodation holiday chalet disability compliant for approx 4-6 weeks until we can move into permenant home. Can I claim linked contribution based ESA and DLA benefits still or will I be forced to be reassessed under Universal credit in the new LA. I don’t think there is a full live service but I’m not sure. Do I alternatively claim new style DLA thoroughly confused.

I have moved your post to it's own topic, we ask members not to post their questions in other's topics as it can lead to the wrong advice being given or taken.

DLA is not a UC benefit, however, if you were under 65 on 8 April 2013, then at some time you will ben invited to claim PIP, moving will not result in an invitation being sent.

If you are only receiving Contribution Based ESA then moving to a UC area will not result in your being asked to claim UC, although at some time in the future I would expect you to be moved to New ESA, however, there are no timescales for this.
