When to ask for the HP's report of the interview was created by King_Drax_I
I have just received my Mandatory Reconsideration result - a refusal, surprise surprise.
I intend to appeal this at a tribunal. In the past, when appealing another family member's MR refusal, I had to call the DWP or whatever they called themselves then, to request a copy of the Healthcare Professional's report on the face-to-face interview.
However, I see from one of your Members' Guides that the Appeal Papers are sent out to all parties, and that package of documents contains the HP report.
So, can I still ask for a copy? How much information do I need to submit at the stage of beginning the appeal? Or do I just start the Appeal and sort out the evidence later?
Thanks

You can ask if you want but it is unlikely to get to you any quicker than the copy in the DWP's submission for your appeal.
The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.
Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.
If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Just for information, actually they were really quick with the medical report; I asked for it Monday and it arrived two days later. So it looks like they can occasionally do it faster Can't fault that service! Now to peruse it and see what they wrote...
