PIP tribunal with advocate, how does it work

I have a rep from a benefits advocacy service (British legion specialist benefits advisor) helping me with my appeal. If they attend my tribunal does the rep present my case? If not, does the panel read their appeal on my behalf before the tribunal hearing? I'm still waiting for a date but as I was told it would be around 10 months. Is that 10 months from F2F or 10 months from my letter saying I wanted to go to tribunal, having had my MR refused?

Tribunal hearings are much more like Judge Judy than what you see with a criminal case, there is no presenting of your case except via a submission, the panel will ask you questions about your limitations and how they affect you in regard to the PIP activities.

Your Reps job is to make sure that the issues you raise are understood by the panel and that they apply the law correctly.

If you contact the Tribunal Service they can tell you the current wait times for your venue.

Speak to your Rep about the strategy they want to take with regard to your appeal.
