Pip review due to mental health was created by Rare1
Hi everybody, I’m new to this site and was hoping to get support .
I have complex medical conditions which leave me in lots of pain.
I’ve received a letter regarding my Pip entitlement due to changes in the law due to depression. My claim has been reviewed and I have not been awarded any points.
I have been struggling with anxiety & depression for many years.
However following a long battle with Endometriosis/Adenomyosis and complications from a da-Vinci hysterectomy in 2014 my health has rapidly gone down.
I was diagnosed with an extremely rare kidney disease called Loin Pain Hematuria in 2015 which is excruciatingly painful and taken a huge physical/mental affect on me. I I have neuropathy which causes immense pain in my legs and neurovascular corns which makes standing/walking comfortably impossible. I have iIBS stomach ulcers and unable to control my bladder (since hysterectomy) bowel problems mean I sometimes can’t go to the toilet for days and constant nausea.
I was diagnosed in 2016 with fibromyalgia which is an absolute nightmare and worsening rapidly.
Depression/anxiety has become a lot more problematic and has impacted on me hugely. I have become isolated &
Fearful of leaving my house due to panic attacks and need someone with me to help me when I do need to attend appointments or I can’t go out alone. Most days I can’t go out at all.
When I received a letter from pip it was unexpected? I now understand this was due to the laws changing.
I feel that my situation has not been considered properly and have no choice now than to ask for a mandatory reconsideration of this desicion, this is the reason for me writing this? If anybody could help me in anyway as I am completely exhausted now and not sure where to turn for help?
I received 11 points for standard PIP award in December 2017.
Hoping someone can advise me further

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

It's not entirely clear from your post what you are referring to, was this letter in regard to your Mobility and the changes to some of the PIP Mobility Descriptors that occurred last year?

If this is not the case can you post again with more details?

On the assumption it is, at the time of your last assessment did you score any points for the Mobility component?

Here's the problem, in your post you say "most days I can’t go out at all", the Descriptors that relate to this (b) and (e) of the Going Out activity were not actually affected by any of the changes and so in principle, the original Decision was correct.

Also, the Decision was based on how you were at the time that the previous Decision was made, they cannot take into account any changes to your conditions that have occurred since then.

If you have deteriorated since then, then you can report a Change of Circumstances but you need to be aware that this will result in a full reassessment of your claim and the new Decision will supersede your existing award, whatever it is.
