Hi
I have PIP assessment next WK for mental health -long term complex ptsd, depression and anxiety which is now considered a disability. I let my career go in September after have 9mths off out of 18mths. I struggle much more with daily activity, social and coping.
I originally did the application with a charity who specialise in helping people with pip claims and appeals. In hindsight i think they filled the form out in too basically a fashion, but she said at the time that was the best way as its what happens at the assessment that counts ? I'm not concerned its too basically ?
i am now under secondary mental health services and so have a care co ordinator who is a mental health nurse, she will be with me at the assessment (although to note she hasn't attended one b4).
I've started to read the 93page document on here for PIP and reading others posts.
If people could give me pointers especially around mental health and fitting the descriptors I'd be appreciative. Also i am writing more notes on how i fit the points and keeping a diary on my daily struggles and how they affect my daily living and functioning. as part of my issues are to do with my mental capacity, concentration and retaining information as well as social functioning . i am debating if taking notes in will be an enhancement to my contributing to the assessment or viewed as i obviously am more functioning than im saying i am as I've had the motivation and ability to record and collate notes ?
Any views on this appreciated ...

Our PIP Claim guide has sections on the assessment and the questions you are likely to be asked. In addition, to your having a look at the PIP Criteria which is also explained in the guide I would suggest that you also look at the ones on Reliably and Safely.
