tribunal was created by orchardpig
I've entered an appeal against the decision to drastically reduce my child's PIP. She is over 18 and autistic. Going out, especially into unknown places is difficult for her due to sensory issues. She is unable to represent herself at tribunal.
Does she have to attend the tribunal in person.?
Do I have a reasonable chance of representing her as a parent who knows her condition very well, or am I better employing a solicitor?

Many thanks

You have two options, she can switch the appeal to a Paper hearing which she does not need to attend, you need to make sure that any testimony and evidence you want to be considered is with the Tribunal Service before making the switch as she will not be informed of when then hearing is, just the result.

Or, you can contact the Tribunal Service for permission to attend in her place, the decision will depend on whether the Judge in charge of her appeal is satisfied that you can present her case in a reasonable manner. If they don't allow it you can still opt for the Paper hearing.
