Dwp contacting my tribunal representative was created by B3lla
Hi, I'm new to the site
My PIP review was a debacle from start to finish and now I am going to tribunal. My tribunal representative was contacted by the DWP to ask if they were indeed going to be my rep.
I'm curious as to why they would want to know. I haven't received the bundle or a tribunal date yet.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
I suspect that this is down to the sending of a copy of the DWP's submission to the person
Is the person a trained Welfare Rights advisor? If they are then the DWP may have wanted confirmation that they had agreed to represent you, most advisors have more clients than they can deal with and usually do not look at the papers for the appeal until the claimant has a date.
If the person is not a trained advisor then the DWP might be querying why they cannot use your copy of the submission.

Like Gordon I think the DWP are wanting confirmation that the person is acting as your representative. For my own PIP appeal - and many months before the actual appeal hearing itself - I was asked by the organization representing me (the RNIB) to complete a 'Consent to act/disclose information to representative' form. This was then sent by my rep to the DWP and HMCTS (appeals service). I was told by my rep that the DWP insists on seeing the original consent form and not a copy, this is one of the few occasions where I actually approve of the DWP's requirements!
