Hi all, my Mam filled out the PIP assessment form, returned it back and was awaiting to hear the date for a Face to Face. Today she had her letter arrive through the door from the post man at 10:45 am and when she opened it, it said that her appointment was today at 8:10 am. So 2 and half hours after her appointment.
She called straight away and they took her details, the reason and said to call back next Wednesday and they will let her know if they will book another appointment or refuse her move from DLA to PIP.
I was wondering if this is something that happens often and what are the chances of them allowing her to have another appointment or will she have to appeal it. My mam is understandably concerned as she wouldn't have missed it.
I'm afraid it is likely that your file will now be returned to the DWP for failing to attend and you will need to explain to them why you did not.
Have you had problems with postal deliveries before? Is there a postmark on the envelope that shows when it was posted? What was the date on the letter itself?
