Age limits for PIP claimants was created by Wrightio
I am in receipt of ESA, but because I have recently undergone lung cancer surgery I was told by a DWP employee that I could be entitled to PIP and Attendance Allowance. I was told this a week after my 65th birthday, therefore too old to claim PIP. I thought I would try for Attendance Allowance, but this cannot be claimed unless you are in receipt of State Retirement Pension. I do not receive this until 9th November this year.
It would seem I am 'in limbo' due to changes by the government regarding pension.
It is 10 weeks since my operation and I am still unable to look after myself without help. What am I supposed to do for the next 6 months?

The qualifying age for PIP is 65 or State Retirement Age, whichever is the higher so if you have not reached SRP you can claim PIP.
