ESA returning to work process was created by J
Hi guys,
I am planning on returning to work asap with offer (at least in a different manner), but I am unsure of the process of doing so (contact DWP or job centre?) or how best to do this and avoid and issues! Grateful for any tips and sorry the question is so broad.

You need to contact the DWP office dealing with your claim, the address will be on the Entitlement Letter you received each year and tell them that you are starting work and when this will be from.

If you are going to work for 16 or more hours a week then you ESA will stop on the day before you start work.
If it is less than 16 hours a week and you earn less than £131.50/week then it can be treated as Permitted Work and your ESA will remain in payment.
If it is less than 16 hours a week and you are receiving Income Related ESA then your income will be deducted £ for £ after a £20/week disregard.
If it is less than 16 hours and your receiving Contribution Based ESA then your ESA(CB) will not be affected.
