Hello I own a surgical corset extremely rigid ...this has to be worn when my spine feels unstable or to assist but not continually due to muscle wastage ....is this classes as an aid and is it better to say I need to wear it or only when pain is severe thanks this is when mobilising

Yes due to surgery and scoliosis it does aid on the days I can mobilise but if I dont wear it ...the pain becomes that unbearable I can't mobilise .....I also have days where my spine spasms ..locks and am bed ridden till it eases ....nothing. Helps then ....

Hi lily, I too have a severe scoliosis which has developed into kyphoscoliosis, all due to Marfan Syndrome. I am extremely worried about PIP. I have a corset which at times I wear but it is very uncomfortable. It's so hard to explain to others the way we suffer, not only physically but mentally too. Good luck with your claim.

I have been in the support group of the past 3years ..I am attending my g.p on Monday do I need a unfit for work slip ?? And also do I send copies of my prescription I'm on a yearly paid one thanks
