My friend was swapped from Incapacity Benefit to ESA approx 6 yrs ago, when she has made an enquiry about the possibility of her being one of the many loosing out because of the change over, she receives £107 a week with no add ons for disabilities or no cold weather payments. She get new claim form? She is concerned that they will take it as from the date she filled in the form, some of the questions are from when she lived out of the area. Is there any suggestions???

They don't need to contact the DWP, they should be contacting all of the IB claimants moved to ESA who might be affected by their failure to asses them for ESA(IR).

This is not a reassessment of their award, just there financial status since they were moved to ESA.

They will need to provide relevant information for the whole six-year period in case there were periods where they did not meet the criteria for ESA(IR).

No one has contacted her Gordon, and she has always been told she is on the right amount and she will get a rise when everyone catches up with her. She was working for the DWP who let her go. She has severe rheumatoid arthritis double knee and hip replacements. She is 62, is there no department she can contact?

There is a team within the DWP working on this, they have asked claimants not to contact the helpline as they will not have access to any of the information about what the team are doing, see
