I read it as the F2F remains in place until and unless they decide that they can do an assessment on paper, if you cancel or he does not attend then his file will be returned to the DWP and his claim may be closed.

As it stated that" whilst the information is under review the appointment for the Home Consultation will automatically be cancelled and you will receive letter in the post with an update to advise if we have been able to complete a Paper Based Report or not.
Because it stated that the Home Consultation will be automatically cancelled, I understood it as they were reviewing to see if a Paper Assessment could be done and if not then he would be given another appointment and if he failed to attend that then his file would go back to DWP.

Sorry I misread it. Yes the current appointment has been cancelled but I would check this to be the case. The email implies that a new appointment will be booked if a paper cannot be done, you will have to wait and see what happens.

I made the same assumption, until I got my sister to read it again and even she was not sure!!!.

Many thanks for clarifying that. I will definitely call them tomorrow and get them to confirm and explain their process etc.

I was really surprised with their response, as I really thought they would tell me that he would have to do with F2F, if not on Monday then another date.

Also, my daughter has just got in and told me that GP surgery had called to say that Atos had called to chase FR report, I've already explained the problem with that earlier this week.

I will keep you updated.

Hi Gordon,

Quick update.

Home assessment has been cancelled by Atos.

I spoke to them this afternoon and was really surprised that they had phoned GP second time today to chase up FR report.

I got the impression that if FR is strong and favourable to husband then a paper assessment may be possible, as I pointed out that an in depth report was sent with PIP form detailing daily problems, which are the same as what is being asked in the FR report.

However, I was told that if this was confirmed in that, then there may be a possibility for paper assessment.

I was also told that on the system it was clearly stated that no dates for home visit to be booked until FR report is received!!!!!

What do you think??

Thanks

All you can do is take them at their word and see what happens.
