When you are reassessed for PIP can you ask them to use the information and evidence of conditions already received with the initial claim, or do you have to provide it all again?

Hi Ob,

Our advice is to treat any review/renewal of a PIP Award as if it was your first claim.

You should provide all and any evidence that may be current at the time of the renewal, and not assume that the PIP Assessment Provider (ATOS or Capita) will have access to your previous claim and any evidence that you may have previously provided.

I am thinking of providing info from the past about diagnosis eg consultant's letters then follow up letters to date and my updated care plan to show how things are at the moment.

In my PIP report which I received by SAR it says i will have the condition at the time of reassessment and I will need support with an assessment.

Do you know if this means I would possible have another home visit or maybe not even need a visit next time? I'm unsure what it means in practice. I will try and re-iterate the need for support when I'm asked to renew next month.

Many thanks.

It could but it would require the Assessment Provider to refer to your previous notes and this only happens rarely,

Thanks. I suppose I could send in a copy of the report from the SAR request. Do you think that would be a good idea or not?
