I just got the dreaded esa questionnaire in today and i only had the medical in May 2014. Just great i followed the guides last time but was still sent for a medical maybe i need more evidence this time to send.

The time between ESA assessments is most usually the result of how long the assessor estimates before a claimant would be capable of returning to work, this is one of the few areas where the condition can be more important than the limitations, but you should not assume that it the result of a reasoned approach, it may not happen so often now, but we still see claimants with deteriorating, non curable conditions being assessed after quite short periods of time.
