How long to wait for a PIP decision? was created by helsbelsx
Hi,
I sent off my claim back today. I just wondered how long it takes from start to finish before a decision is made roughly? I am expecting a long wait but how long do I leave it before ringing to check they have received the claim pack...? I have sent it first class recorded
Also when I rung up initially to make the claim they said that if I didn't hear from them in 3 weeks to ring them. Did she mean if I didn't get the claim pack through or something else? She didn't really specify. How long after sending the pack off should I expect to hear about an assessment? I am in the south east so in the atos area if that helps?
Thanks in advance

I am afraid there is too much variation in the system for us to give you anything close to an accurate idea, at one extreme claims are taking only a few weeks and at the other as long as nine or ten months if not longer.

I believe that the DWP will acknowledge receipt of the PIP2 form.

The biggest delay is in the assessment process, it could be weeks or many months.
