Performance measurement visit was created by Clare Gibson
Hi, I attended an Atos reassessment on 2nd March, I claim PIP. Last week I received a letter informing me of an intended Performance Measurement Visit, later this week. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of these and what I should expect? All the literature I have looked up, doesn't mention these visits, regarding PIP claims and I am just wondering if it could be in relation to something from the reassessment.
Any advice, information, personal experiences would be greatly received.
Thanks a lot

Hi,

Welcome to Benefits and Work :)

If your forum name is also your real name, you may wish to change it to maintain some anonymity.

This can be done quite easily by following the instructions on this FAQ :

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

Quite a lot of our members have been receiving such letters regarding "interviews" !!

This appointment could therefore be pure coincidence and totally unrelated to your PIP.

A Performance Measurement Visit should be to purely check that your financial and personal details have not changed, and that you are receiving the correct amount of benefit.

They will probably ask you for ID, and financial information such as your previous 3 months bank statements, etc.

As the DWP officer visiting you will not be medically trained, they should not make any comments regarding your medical conditions/limitations, other than, "has there been any change"

We think that these "interviews" are purely "fishing" exercises, and if you comply with their requests, and there has been no change, all should be fine.

We did have a lot of members in The ESA Support Group receiving similar letters, and gave advice on this : Here.

If you have any doubts, or wish further information on what exactly the visit is pertaining to, you should ring the number on the letter.

Welcome to the forum.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I have to admit that this is the first time we have heard of anything like this in regard to PIP or even DLA, they are usually in relation to income replacement benefits such as ESA or JSA.

You will have been selected as random, they normally want to see current bank statements, however, this has no relevance to PIP, so they may not ask.

They may ask about your health, but as you do not appear to have had a Decision on your PIP claim, it would again see somewhat redundant to see whether it has changed at all.
