I had a medical by Maximus today. It only took about five mins. The health professional asked: Do you suffer from depression? I replied Yes. Do you suffer from anxiety? I replied Yes. Do you have absence seizures? I replied Yes. Do you have tinnitus? I replied Yes.
She took a few notes about me being suicidal in the past. When I said, I had numbness all over my body and painful muscles. She said that she was only a nurse, and she's referring me to a doctor, and maximus will call me in a few weeks time.
What worried me the most was the medical person today didn’t ask why I was depressed and anxious. I was bullied at numerous workplaces and at home in my formative years by my father.
I had a medical about four years ago, and I was in with the medical person employed by atos (sorry for the dirty word) for about 45 mins. He was asking me about my general outlook on life, and how I cope at home, and socially.
I noticed while I was waiting the other people called in, were only in the interview for about five to fifteen mins, which I thought was too short a time to accurately evaluate a person’s disability.
I’m worried that I may be pushed onto JSA. Maximus are doing things differently.
The most likely cause for the short assessment is that the nurse decided that she was not qualified to handle your assessment and that a doctor needs to do so the next time, so the call that they mentioned will be to arrange a new appointment.
