benefit fraudsters was created by Water22
just heard on d radio. there r people doind this kind of thing!
had a look at those kind of people newspaper articles. Very sad indeed. majority seems to be claiming above £100.000 a year! but, they seems to b healthy and purely greedy.
I think they should classify greed as illness and or criminal. But, i guess they cant do that koz this will put greedy bankers in prison also lol
Am curious How do they find those fraudsters!? How do they particulary choose these individuals among so many claimants?
i mean -i dont know how many people r on benefits nationally, say half a million- among so many people?
Thanks

Hi p,
I believe that the amount lost to "Benefit Fraud" is quite low !
If I remember correctly it accounts for around 0.7% of the total Benefits Budget.
A lot more is lost due to Official Error on the part of The DWP.
The figures for Benefit Fraud have been exaggerated in the past to justify draconian changes to "Welfare" spending.
There will always be a minority in all walks of life that will try and take advantage.
However, the way I look at it is, if there was a "Thief" that lived in a street, should the Police arrest the whole street ?
Don't believe all your read, hear and see within the media, a lot of it is generated by the Right Wing press.
There are many various ways that "Benefit Fraud" can come to light, e.g. agencies sharing information, etc, etc, etc.
I will now lock this topic to stop it developing into a discussion.
