Many thanks to you too Gordon, I understand…………………….I wish there were some kind of proof that I could place under the nose of one of my Consultants who, has regularly snarled at me, “when is all this stress going to stop”? Good news for him is that the prospect of the possibility of going through what poor PCMs going through, has sent the stress levels through the roof. Oh and for the metaphorical pudding, there’s 8 July yet to come……………………..oh joy!!!!!!!!!!!

Sincere thanks once again.
P.

This morning I received yet another brown envelope, this time with the returned enclosed 'Statements', they demanded last time, however with a further request.
As I have been in receipt of a small pension since 1999 - well below £85 a week (£25 per week) they wanted a copy of the first statement from 1999 and the date it started. !!!!
As it has gone past 7 years I no longer by law need to keep such records. So I do not have that statement nor can I remember exactly what day/date it started and why should I remember.!!!!!!
So they cannot have that record from me.
They also wanted this years latest monthly statement from my pension provider.
I do have that one so I have sent them that one, asking them to return it and that I cannot remember the day/date it all began back in 1999.
I also told them that as they were initially provided with this information in 1999, what have they done with the records??
I also added they have my permision to contact my pension provider with all matters pertaining to this as they have the address etc.
Why they could not have asked for them in the first place, or is it they are so stupid they cannot divide an annual statement by 12 ???!!!
I believe they are just plain harassing me as these stupid enquiries are useless and show us how rediculous and inept the staff are at DWP/Jobcentre.
But then again we know they are illiterate, obtuse and all seem to be mini Hitlers.

canttrusthesystem wrote: I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, or writing anything incorrect (if so, would a Moderator please delete this) but the DWP asked me on the phone last time they phoned to tell me that I had got into the ESA Support Group if I wanted to be assessed for a means tested top up and I just said 'no thanks, I will not be pursuing that', and just did not give them any financial info. Also, last time I read their printed info about pensions it said you only had to tell them about a pension(s) if it was over £85 a week. So, generally, best not to volunteer the information? (I know, sorry, too late if they already know
)
I'm afraid it is not that simple, it is not for the claimant to decide that information is not relevant to a claim, only the DWP can make this decision, so even though, as an example, ESA(CB) is not affected by pension income under £85/week this does not mean that a claimant is not required to make the DWP aware of the information.

Periodically over the years they have required updates from my pension provider in which I have complied with.
However now they do seem to be somewhat hard nosed in this form of harrassment this time round and totally inept at what they want or need as listed since their initial letter a few weeks ago.
I think they have listed it as a weekly amount rather than a monthly one, so I can see a battle royal brewing., as the pension is £106 per month. Too complicated for their feeble brains.

Latest update
This morning I received 2 letters, hand written envelopes by the same hand addressed to a Miss xxxxx rather than to a Mrs xxxx ( they do know I have been married since 2005)
First envelope contains my P60 they wanted, returned.
The second letter contains a letter.
It does start Mrs xxxx hurraah, that bit right.
About your Employment 7 Support Allowance.
As part of the Goverment Welfare Reform Initiative, claimants in receipt of ESA are being contacted to ensure the correct amount of benefit is in payment.
We recently conducted a review of your ESA. ased on your current circumstances, there is no change to your rate of benefit this time.
I could have told them that without all the hassle and cost !!!!!!
It carries on about letting them know of any changes etc etc.
What a totoal waste of time and money.
They obviously have not got enough to do !!!
