Hi bg42,

If you are in receipt of Contribution Based (CB) ESA only with no part of your ESA being Income Related (IR) ESA, the £17,000 will have no adverse effect on your ESA.

CB ESA is not means tested with respect to capital, assets, savings, household income or any hours worked by a partner, unlike IR ESA which is.

If you, yourself were in receipt of a Works Pension in excess of £85/Week that would result in deductions from you CB ESA.

DLA nor PIP are not means tested neither, so it would not affect those payments.

If you are not sure that your ESA is all CB ESA with no part being IR ESA, you should inform The DWP in writing.
